Message from Founder/Executive director

Proud Fathers, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to provide support, encouragement, and resources to fathers and men who serve as father figures.  Statistics inform us that there are 63.4 million fathers in the nation and of that 2.5 million are single fathers.  Studies on parent-child relationships and child wellbeing show that a father’s love is an important factor in predicting the social, emotional, and cognitive development and functioning of children and young adults.  There is statistical evidence to prove that fathers make a difference! Along with my Board of Directors, we will do all we can to provide the fathers across the great state of North Carolina the best opportunities and resources available to make them and their families great. With God's mercy and grace, we will accomplish that and more.

This work has been the most rewarding work I've ever done in the community next to volunteering high school football for 25 years. The Lord has given me the drive, desire and all the tools needed to be successful in serving His earthly fathers and children. When I decided on a name for this organization, I wanted it to mean something and standout from all the others. When I thought of a father, I thought of a Proud Fathers because I define myself as one.

PROUD stands for P – protector, R – resourceful, O – ongoing, U – understanding, and D – dedicated Fathers.  This organization is committed to addressing the needs of fathers and providing them with resources to make them better fathers and to strengthen their families and communities.
